The mobile application eAlerts enables individual healthcare professionals to receive an overview of current and future events in the ehealth system. It provides important announcements and remind-ers regarding planned events. The healthcare professional will be informed about what is happening on ehealth, eliminating the need to search for information. Information is always within reach.
Before installing the eAlerts app, have your Healthcare Professional Code ready.
From March 17, 2020, eAlerts includes a special section with important information regarding the coronavirus.
eAlerts is provided by the National Health Information Centre free of charge for mobile devices using iOS (Apple) or Android. Installation of the app is just the same as any other app.

How do I install the app?
You will find the app on Apple Store or Google Play under the name eAlerts.
In the search field, type in the word ealerts and click on the displayed result. Your phone will display a screen where you can download eAlerts for free.
On the screen with the eAlerts app, choose Install or Download, depending on what your phone shows you.
How to start using eAlerts?
When you first open the app, you will be asked whether you wish to allow Notifications. Click on Al-low, as that is the main feature of the app. Without your permission, the system will not be sending you notifications.
You will need to log in before the first use of the app. To log in, use your SURNAME and Healthcare Professional Code, which has 9 characters in the format A12345678 and your phone number. This information will be used solely for communication purposes with you and will not be available anywhere else.
How do I update the app?
The mobile app is maintained and updated by the National Health Information Centre (NHIC). If NHIC releases a new version, your phone will automatically detect it. It will either update the app to the new version or after the launch of the app, it will ask you whether you want to update it. Always choose Update. It only takes a few seconds.
How does eAlerts obtain information?
The NHIC provides information updates in cooperation with experts. Some sections of the app may not include any data, which is not a mistake. If you are connected to the internet, eAlerts will automatically download information, which is usually in the form of short text messages that do not consume a lot of mobile data.
There are three types of information:
- Coronavirus - a special section dedicated to important information regarding COVID-19,
- Notifications - section with information regarding the functionality and availability of the national healthcare information system ehealth,
- News - latest ehealth information.
